GTA 6 pre-orders are live

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 at midnight local time, across digital storefronts and major retailers. The game launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 (and PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version at launch — a PC release is widely expected in 2027, and pre-orders for it are not yet available.

Rockstar kept it simple: two editions, and no physical Collector's or SteelBook edition this time. The boxed copy is a download code in a case — there is no disc — so the only real decisions are Standard vs Ultimate, and digital vs a boxed code.

Where to pre-order GTA 6

Digital (recommended — includes the GTA+ bonus)

Pre-ordering digitally on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store adds a free month of GTA+ on top of the Vintage Vice City Pack, and lets you preload and play at launch with no disc.

Physical (boxed download code — Standard only)

Major retailers are taking pre-orders for a boxed Standard Edition at $79.99. The box contains a download code, not a disc — handy if you'd rather not charge your card until the game ships, but it can't be resold like a traditional disc, and it doesn't include the GTA+ month.

GTA 6 editions & pricing

There are exactly two editions — both digital, with Standard also sold as a boxed code. Prices below are the confirmed US MSRP (UK in parentheses); every storefront charges the same.

Edition Price What you get
Standard $79.99
(£69.99)
The full base game. Available digitally or as a boxed download code.
Ultimate $99.99
(£89.99)
Base game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade: premium vehicles, personalized weapons, exclusive apparel & tattoos, and Ultimate-only shops — woven through Jason and Lucia's story and unlocked across chapters. Digital only.

There is no Special Edition and no physical Collector's Edition this time — no SteelBook, no boxed merch. That's a break from GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, both of which had collector tiers. It also puts to rest the viral "$200 base game" rumor: the base game is $79.99.

GTA 6 pre-order bonuses

Two bonuses are confirmed, and they stack:

So if the GTA+ month matters to you, pre-order digitally on PlayStation or Xbox rather than buying a boxed code.

Should you pre-order GTA 6?

GTA 6 was delayed twice, so caution is fair — but two things make pre-ordering now low-risk:

Our take: Standard at $79.99 through a cancellable channel is close to risk-free. Only step up to Ultimate if the premium vehicles, weapons, and cosmetics genuinely appeal — it's extra content, not early access or a better-performing version of the game.

Pre-order FAQ

How much does GTA 6 cost?

The Standard Edition is $79.99 (£69.99) and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99 (£89.99). Every storefront charges the same MSRP.

What's the difference between Standard and Ultimate?

Ultimate adds the Ultimate Edition Upgrade — premium vehicles, personalized weapons, exclusive apparel and tattoos, and Ultimate-only shops, delivered through the story. It's extra content, not early access or a performance difference.

Is there a disc or Collector's Edition?

No. There's no disc — the boxed Standard Edition contains a download code — and there is no physical Collector's or SteelBook edition.

Can I pre-order GTA 6 on PC?

Not yet. The PC version isn't launching with consoles — it's expected in 2027 — and no PC pre-order is available.

Can I cancel a GTA 6 pre-order?

Yes. On PlayStation and Xbox you can cancel a digital pre-order before release for a full refund; at retailers you can cancel before the order ships. Always check the specific store's policy at checkout.
